Think about your bathroom. It’s a humid mess. You’ve got steam everywhere, and then—splash—a drop of cold water hits a heating element that’s glowing at 500°C. In a normal piece of glass, that’s a recipe for disaster. The cold water makes the surface shrink way faster than the inside of the tube, and the whole thing just snaps. It’s called thermal shock, and it’s why cheap heaters can be dangerous. That’s why we stick with explosion-proof quartz. We use a specific reinforced blend or a protective layer so that even if the glass does give out, it doesn’t shatter into a million tiny shards. It stays contained. It’s just safer. Instant heat, no waiting. These lamps work differently than those bulky heaters that try to warm up all the air in the room. They use shortwave infrared. Instead of waiting for the air to get warm, these tubes send out waves that hit your skin and the walls directly. It’s immediate. You step out of the shower and you feel the heat right away. No shivering while you wait for the room to “catch up.” A few tips on installation We keep these simple. They’re designed to drop right into your existing fixtures, usually with those spring-loaded R7s connectors that click into place. But here is the thing: don’t overdo it. These tubes put out a lot of intense, localized heat. If you cram a high-wattage tube into a tiny plastic housing, you’re going to have a problem. You might melt the plastic or trip the safety switch before you even get warm. Just make sure your vents are clear so the internal electronics can breathe. At the end of the day, staying safe in the shower isn’t about a fancy brand name. It’s all about the chemistry of the glass and how much stress it can take before it breaks.
