It zeroes in on the biggest energy hog in the whole process—the heating zone—and swaps it out for something compact and seriously powerful. The whole point is simple: give you precise, controllable heat, and cut your electricity bill, year after year.
Technical Deep-Dive
When you’re annealing glass, you need heat that’s fast and focused. You have to bring the tube up to its stress-relief temperature without turning the whole area into a sauna. This lamp runs on 400V, which is what makes it punch so hard in such a small space. It’s rated at 2500W, all packed into a 300mm active length. That kind of heat density gets the job done quickly. It keeps the machine footprint small, sure, but it does put real pressure on your cooling system. You’ve got to make sure your cooling capacity can handle the extra ambient heat. Otherwise, the electronics will start cooking themselves.
Material & Design
Inside, we use a halogen-filled quartz envelope to create shortwave infrared radiation. This spectrum just sinks into the glass, heating the material directly instead of wasting energy on the air around it. The internal halogen cycle keeps the filament stable, which means a longer lamp life and consistent output for thousands of hours. And the R7s connector? It’s a practical choice. It handles the high current, installs fast, and stands up to the constant thermal cycling on the line. The whole thing is designed to drop right in where your standard fixtures are, so you can upgrade without rewiring the entire machine.
Application & Benefits
In glass tube annealing, the lamp’s efficiency comes from matching the heat spectrum to how the glass actually absorbs it. Less wasted heat. Cooler temperatures around the line. A lighter load on your cooling system. That focused heat zone also gives you tighter control over the temperature, which means better consistency and less scrap. Now, there is a trade-off. The high heat density means you need solid thermal management and careful alignment of the fixture.
